6 TRENDS FROM LONDON FASHION WEEK AW19

London Fashion Week is over, and, ICYMI, a lot happened this year. Victoria Beckham moved her show from New York to celebrate her label’s 10th anniversary, Riccardo Tisci revealed his second Burberry collection and a whole host of on-point street-stylers took over the sidewalks. So, to give you a taster of the vibe at the AW19 show, here are six trends we saw over the last few days.

The age of beige

Beige was the biggest shade of LFW and, here, Leonie Hanne shows us how to do it without being, well, beige. The German blogger pairs an oatmeal blazer with a cut-out neon top, adding a pair of cat-eye sunnies and statement earrings for that extra finesse. We are not worthy.

Animal house

Leopard is having a moment RN and it was spotted (scuse the pun) a lot during fashion week. It sure is cute when it comes in a so-2019 satin cami like Masha Sedgwick’s number, which she layers over a khaki green top. To balance out the slinkiness of the dress, she adds chunky Dr. Martens and a slick leather beret.

Just blaze

How many style notes can we cop from this one, let us count the ways: 1) Blazerscan be dresses, too. 2) There’s no such thing as too many checks. 3) Sheer black tights are the answer to our cold-weather prayers. 4) A letter necklace is a cute-AF final touch. Need we go on?

Pastel power

Sorbet shades were in abundance throughout the SS19 collections, and they’ve already made their mark for AW19 in the shows of Molly Goddard, JW Anderson and loads more. Stylist Emili Sindlev (who is officially our new style crush BTW) does it in a laid-back way with a lemon sherbet knit and a degradé lilac jeans. PS, how good are those hair clips?

The final straws

If summer came in an accessory, Jacquemus’ straw bag would surely be it. Raffia add-ons like this one are set to be big this season, and they’re not just for your maxi dress on vacay. Wear them with tailoring, sportswear, denim – whatever you fancy, really.

Training day

We’re pretty proud of London’s sneaker game – it’s still the city in which you’ll see the most major trainers over fashion month. Chunky shapes in bold colours remain the style of choice for showgoers, with kicks like the adidas Falcon enjoying a starring role.
